7 HABITS OF A CEO YOU NEED TO PRACTICE




Picture this. You wake up with a million different things to do, you're scrambling to get all these tasks done or procrastinating to one that you're dreading, and by the evening you got nothing done or kicking yourself for binge watching How to Get Away With Murder instead of finishing you essay leaving you typing nonsense at 2 in the morning (true story).


This familiar process is something I deal with everyday, and now that I have a job, a blog, other ventures, chores, and a social/healthy life to balance, I need to find a way to BE PRODUCTIVE, FOR REAL. So again its 2:00 am and I'm in the Youtube black hole watching Buzzfeed when I came upon business type videos of people going vegan, developing good habits, etc. Things I should be doing, but can't be bothered. So I finally decided enough is enough, there's always room for improvement. So I decided to do some research straight from the most successful people in the world, CEOs. Here I've compiled 10 habits of successful CEOs of huge corporations, and I challenge you to join the ride with me, in attaining a successful mentality and life.


1. Get Up Early... REALLY Early


Most CEOs apparently are psycho and go to bed at 9:00 pm , then wake up at 4:00 am... This will be an extremely hard task at first but it does give you loads of time to get things done for yourself, and your tasks. Robert Iger, Disney CEO, swears by it. Dreams really do come true, if you don't dream at all.


2. Exercise Regularly


You should have seen this coming, surprise bitch! You really thought you could escape leg day?


3. Feed Your Soul


Everyday, Oprah Winfrey, the richest self made black woman in America, has a cup of hot water with lemon and a dose of meditation. This doesn't mean you have to hit a gong and scream OMMMMM like Gandhi, but just taking the time to reflect on our day before you go to sleep is a good start. You get to meditate! You get to meditate! You all get to meditate!


4. Be a Minimalist


When the word 'minimalist' comes to mind, two things pop into my head, the people who live in tiny homes, and Steve Jobs, former CEO and creator of Apple. Steve Jobs used to dress in a simple uniform everyday, helping him focus his mind on products instead of choosing a stylish outfit. Personally, I would hate that so I would suggest keeping a wardrobe of essential plain t-shirts, black shoes, bomber jackets, jeans, simple things that can be easily interchangeable.


5. Become A Network Expert


Palantir CEO Alex Carp claims he became a millionaire by trying to meet new multiple people everyday. In business or even life in general its important to surround ourselves with non-toxic people that push you to be their best, and people who can bring you to new and exciting experiences. Try to talk to people you would never interact with in the first place, but maybe avoid people with long jackets in alleyways saying they got Gucci watches for $6.99


6. Schedule Time for Relaxation


With all these new habits and tasks completed we all need a break, Ariana Huffington, CEO of the Huffington Post, claims she relaxes with a bath along with candles, chocolates, Epsom salts, champagne, and a good book. Ari you had me at chocolate.


7. Stay Inspired

Finally, to embrace your inner CEO, you have to stay inspired, keep doing things you love, and stay true to your passions or dreams. People like Will Smith, Katy Perry, Michael Phelps, Ariana Grande, and Arnold Schwarzenegger are just a few successful people that have vision boards of images hung up in a space they are frequently in to inspire them when they are in a state of blockage or stress.
